GLC Landscaping started as a teenager’s small business, and grew to be a leading outdoor design and landscape maintenance company in the Downriver area.

“We create an outdoor space that is a functional extension of the home where you are entertaining outside and creating memories,” said Eileen Lucia, who owns the company with her husband, Gino.

“GLC does offer the option of providing a design for someone who wants a DIY project, but our specialty is really coming in to manage the full scope of work," Eileen said. "Michigan summers are short, so we want to maximize everyone’s time enjoying the outdoors.”

Additionally, GLC offers landscape maintenance as well as snow and ice management services.

“Our mission statement is to be the area’s leading landscape company providing a distinctly different design build experience," Eileen said.


Dream comes true

At 13 Gino founded GLC, and by the time he was 16 he was providing lawn care services to approximately 60 residential customers. In 2015 Eileen brought her Eastern Michigan University’s College of Business School education and her career experience to manage the GLC office full-time. Today the company has 20 employees.

“We worked hard for 25 years to differentiate ourselves,” Eileen said. “We’ve had continued growth every year with the right team members and a good, old-fashioned work ethic.”

“We are committed to clients and creating a space to make memories by providing a construction process that is different with a real personalized approach,” Eileen said. “The majority of our business is from referrals.”
