The Summit on the Park marked the official grand reopening of its newly renovated Aquatics Center on Friday, January 5, 2024, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by a free community open swim for 200 individuals.

Canton Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak presided over the festivities and recognized the many individuals who were instrumental in completing this construction project on time and under budget. Also in attendance were the Canton Board of Trustees and Canton officials, Summit on the Park management and aquatics staff, as well as construction professionals from AM Higley, who were responsible for completing the renovations.

This $2.4 million construction project, led by Canton Township Facilities Maintenance staff, included tile replacement in all pools, including the lap pool and family pool, as well as on the pool decks. In addition, tile was also replaced in the spa and sauna, as well as in the men’s, women’s, and family locker rooms. Further enhancements included the addition of a colorful six-foot tall Gum Drop water feature, as well as the painting of the pool deck roof.

“It’s great to see so many individuals enjoying our newly renovated Aquatic Center that will serve our community for years to come,” said Jason Lombardo, Summit on the Park Community Center supervisor. “This indoor center, which is one of the premier pool facilities in the area, is a popular family-friendly destination that offers lap swimming, open swims and a variety of classes and swim lessons throughout the day.”

The 13,340-square-foot Summit Aquatic Center, located at 46000 Summit Parkway, is home to a five-lane, 25-yard lap pool, zero-depth leisure pool with play features, lazy river and slide, as well as a steam room and sauna. The Aquatic Center provides a safe environment in which participants can achieve their highest level of fitness through aquatic activity.

Programming for all ages and ability levels includes a variety of learn-to-swim programs as well as fitness and water-safety classes.
