The City of South Lyon is in the process of installing a pocket park at the entrance to its downtown area. The City has owned this small parcel for over 10 years and it recently managed to obtain $400-$500K in grant funding to cover the cost of its installation.

Lafayette Park, as it will be known, will provide a location for folks to sit, relax and enjoy something to eat from one of the local restaurants. It is expected to be completed in the spring.

“Lafayette Park will serve as an oasis in downtown South Lyon for folks and their families to rest and enjoy some food and beverages from our restaurants,” said South Lyon Mayor Steve Kennedy. “Located within the Social District, it will provide a place for friends to gather and enjoy a summer evening or a weekend afternoon together as well.”
