Summer Reading 2026 – All Ages baconlibrary.org/summerreading


Registration began Monday, June 8 and logging began June 15.

All ages can participate...books, ebooks and audiobooks count!

This summer there will be three programs to choose from:
• 0-5: Read to Me
• Grades K-8
• High School and Up

Log your minutes of reading throughout the summer! Every 100 minutes earns a Bacon Bucks to be used at our Summer Reading Store August 6-12. Six (6) Bacon Bucks Max.

Look out for bonus missions and raffles!



Story Times

• Babytime/Toddler - Tuesday, June 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28 at 10:00 a.m.

Join Ms. Hailey for stories, music, and dance! This program is geared to babies and toddlers.

• Family Storytime - Wednesday, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 at 11:00 a.m.

Join Ms. Hailey for stories, music, dance and more! This program is geared to families with children of multiple ages.


The Art of Unwinding: Art for everyone!

July 14, 21, 28, August 4, 11, 18

Join us on the front porch of the library for art and relaxation! The program is designed to cater to a diverse age range and artistic abilities, making it a great way for families of all ages to create together. Art projects will be provided so that everyone finds joy in creation, regardless of their level of expertise.


Summer Family Programs

• Dino Academy: A Dinosaur Discovery Show - Tuesday, July 14 at 1:00 p.m.

Step into the prehistoric world with Dino Academy! Led by the quirky and curious Dr. Sarah Tops, this actionpacked adventure uncovers fascinating dino facts that will wow even the biggest dino fans. Featuring life-like, colorful dinosaur puppets that stomp, roar and charm their way into every heart, this show blends science, storytelling and imagination in the style of your favorite nature programs.

• Foam Party - Wednesday, July 22 at 1:00 p.m.

The Mad Foamers is back with two foam cannons! Join the party on the front lawn and bring a towel! No registration needed and FREE!


All Ages Programs

• Drink To Your Health - Thursday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m.

Participants will learn how sugary drinks impact their health, then prepare fresh, healthy alternative recipes they can replicate at home. This is a Cooking Matters hands-on cooking class led by Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.

• Bacon Swaps: Toy and Games swap - Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Join us for our first Bacon Swaps. Swap out your old children's toys and games for something new to you! Items will be accepted from July 13 and can also be brought the day of. You do not need to bring materials in order to pick something up.

• Rainbow Feathers Bird Club and Rescue - Saturday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m.

Rainbow Feathers Bird Club will bring birds, ranging from the tiny parrotlet to majestic macaws. During the session, they will discuss the age of the birds, their lifespan and their origins. You will be able to pet the birds and get a memorable photo. This program is geared for people age 6-106. This program is not suitable for very young children.

• Community Sing with Matt Watroba - Monday, July 27 at 5:00 p.m.

Matt Watroba will lead you and your family in an evening of song. Sing along, suggest a song to share or just listen. No experience needed, just a love of music and community.
