Two new programs include Targets, which helps members save for future expenses; and Choice Map, a comprehensive opportunity for members to establish the financial freedom they seek and remain on a solid financial path by working directly with a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor.

All members have access to Digital Wallets, which provide a level of safety for members making online purchases. They also are eligible for Community Choice’s GetBigReward$ program, which has paid out approximately $28 million to members since 2013. By taking common actions like a minimum monthly credit and/or debit card usage, and earning a minimum of $300 in direct deposits, members can earn $12 in rewards per month, and more through loan rebates. Community Choice contributed nearly $3.35 million in GetBigReward$ back to members in 2023 alone.

These are all examples of expanded access to Community Choice services and accounts through such tools as 24/7 ATMs, the installation of integrated teller machines, access to more than 125 NCQA certified financial counselors and more.

Community Choice also supports small business owners and entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed. One area of specialty is working with small business members in the cannabis industry. Managing business finances is a challenge for many entrepreneurs, but it can be an especially frustrating process for business owners operating in the cannabis industry. Community Choice welcomes and embraces cannabis entrepreneurs in Michigan and elsewhere in the U.S. with an understanding that their business is different through features available in their Choice Cash Services program. Many cannabis business members have established very successful organizations with Community Choice’s help.

Community Choice also gives big to its communities throughout Michigan, with the help of the Foundation Credit union team members, who were involved in more than 12,600 hours of volunteer activities in 2023, with that number expected to rise in 2024. The Community Choice Foundation provides a range of financial and community support, including a minimum of $100,000 in annual college, trade school and continuing education scholarships, student backpacks each fall, teacher grants and more.
