Northville Eagles 2504 are members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, an international nonprofit organization uniting fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope.

The Eagles host a number of local charitable events throughout the year aimed to “help the community and people around us.”

Last year, the Eagles teed up its annual golf outing and shot an impressive “score” of $3,480, with all the proceeds staying right here in Northville. Trustee Kelly Wyosocki and Lynn Law, entertainment and events chair, proposed to the Eagles Golf Committee to donate the proceeds from the 2023 golf event to the Living and Learning Enrichment Center (LLEC). The proposal was unanimously agreed upon and in February a check for $3,480 was presented to LLEC.

LLEC, located at 801 Griswold in Northville, is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic, social, work-based and community engagement with “life-changing” results. One of the fastest-growing organizations in the state of Michigan, LLEC helps people with disabilities develop their social and independent living skills and seek to support, enrich, inspire, and embolden participants and their families so they can achieve their goals.

The Northville Eagles Golf Committee includes co-chairs Mark Williams and Lynn Rotelle, along with members Lynn Law, Rockell Coan, Kay Brown, Scott Warren, Jason Law, Robert Will, Brad Mamo, Jon Tolliver and Jim O’Brien.

This year’s annual golf outing will take place on September 8 at Downing Farms.

Northville Eagles 2504 hosts and supports a number of other charitable events each year, including a children’s pumpkin carving party, Thanksgiving dinner (provided for residents at no cost), and a children’s Christmas party.

The Eagles also adopt four to five local families each year that are in need during the holiday season and the group is associated with several charitable events for veterans. They also have been longtime supporters of First Step, a nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Jim O’Brien, a past president of the Eagles, organizes several Texas hold ‘em events each year with the help of Christy Albright. The most recent Texas hold ‘em event was chaired by Courtney Van Lou and proceeds benefited the Northville skate park. The event raised $2440. A recent Euchre tournament benefited the Novi High School football program and raised approximately $2,150.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles includes over one million members and more than 1,500 locations across the United States and Canada. The F.O.E. donates more than $10 million a year to local communities, fundraisers, charities and more.

The Northville Eagles are always accepting new members who are interested in “people helping people.” For more information on the Northville Eagles, log onto foe.com.
