Canton resident Kyle Cafarelli is a collector, viral content creator, father, husband, gearhead, and foodie.

“Pizza is the one thing I could eat forever. Simple yet endless versatility,” he said as we eat. “I also love the smashburger and spicy chicken sandwich at Ruckus Tacos. Delicious.”

Cafarelli used to have 70 arcade games but whittled it down to TMNT, Terminator 2, Ultimate MK3, Top Skater with the skateboard deck, and a jukebox. A true collector, he often buys doubles of stuff.

“I started collecting sneakers in duplicate,” he said. “One to wear, one for the shelf. My favorite shoe is the ’92 Reebok Shaq Attack re-release. I’m also really into Ghostbusters and bought several of the proton packs from Hasbro’s Haslab.”

Growing up in Canton with his younger brother Kevin and sister Kimberly, Cafarelli attended Plymouth Christian Academy, then graduated Salem in 2000.

“My friend Cowboy Shane Sutton and I took automotive at Canton, and I became a gearhead,” he said. “Mr. Duff and Mr. Bondi were the coolest teachers. It sparked my lifelong love of cars, drag racing and welding.”

After graduating from Schoolcraft and Wyotech (a trade school in Blairsville, Pennsylvania), Cafarelli worked as a mechanic until launching his own business, Dynasty Powder Coating.

“I left BMW to do it full-time,” he said. “One day a company asked if I could add a nonstick coating to pizza pans. Suddenly semi-trucks were pulling up weekly with 5,000 to 7,000 pizza pans!”

Cafarelli is well-known for his online platform, Daddy Delicious, symmetrically titled like Double Dragon or Nickelodeon’s Double Dare.

“My online videos were getting picked up, so I launched YouTube and TikTok channels,” he said. “I’ve expanded the content beyond food reviews. I’ll be posting a documentary on Detroit Tiki culture, including an interview with Marlin Chin. And my recent film review of Kevin Costner’s Waterworld bizarrely has 200,000 views. Who knew!?”

Ghostbusters Detroit is another passion.

“Watching the 1984 film Ghostbusters is like entering a time machine for my childhood nostalgia,” he said. “Then about 2015, I joined Eric Milkman’s cosplay group, Ghostbusters Detroit, of about 60 members and merged into being a Ghostbuster, portraying Ray Stantz.”

Cafarelli even built an Ecto-1 ambulance-hearse vehicle from the movie.

“It’s functional, we dress in our gear and drive it,” he said. “Sometimes Sony invites us to events. Yes, I’ve met Ray (Dan Ackroyd) and yes, he’s a very cool dude. I love all the community outreach that we do.”

You can find Cafarelli volunteering at Astronomicon, collecting movie prop replicas like the 1986 Aliens pulse rifle, or jamming some rock n’ roll and country music with his dad.

“I play guitar, some piano and drums. He plays the banjo,” he said. “I also love spending time with my family and going Up North. We ride four-wheelers and have bonfires under the stars – no light pollution so the clarity is amazing.”

The 1982 arcade game, Reactor, is his holy grail.

“You’re an atom inside a nuclear reactor,” he said. “You have to keep it from overheating. The games in-built subwoofer makes it intense. I’ll get it one day!”
