Pinecrest Drive Grant

Through the efforts of State Representative Tullio Liberati and State Senator Erika Geiss, the City of Allen Park received a State Earmark Grant of $1,600,000.00 for Pinecrest Drive. The funding will be used to remove the existing asphalt by roto milling to the concrete pavement base on both the east and west lanes of Pinecrest Drive and seven crossovers between Southfield Road and Pelham Road. All lanes and crossovers will be resurfaced with asphalt.


Street Improvement Program

The reconstruction of Reeck Road will continue in 2024, with the contractor, Hardrock Concrete, working on the area between Maylawn Avenue and Wick Road.


MDOT Critical Bridge Fund Grant Program

Two bridges in the city will close for a period time for preventive maintenance work. The city received grant funding through the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) Critical Bridge Fund to make repairs to the Reeck Road bridge over the Sexton-Kilfoil Drain and the NB M-39 (Southfield) Service Drive over the North Branch of the Ecorse River.

Water Main Replacement Program

The area selected for the 2024 Water Main Replacement Program is Garfield Avenue west of Roosevelt to the railroad tracks and White Avenue west of Roosevelt to the railroad tracks. Bricco Excavating will be the contractor for the water main project.


2023 Completed Projects

• The 2023 Street Improvement Program projects included the reconstruction of Rosedale Boulevard from Champaign Road to Southfield Road, Reeck Road from Goddard Road to Maylawn Avenue, and Paris Avenue from Allen Road to the dead-end east of Laurence Avenue.
• The 2023 Concrete Street Sectioning Program included sections of Meyer Avenue from Allen Road to Roger Avenue, the area around Arno School (Markese Avenue, Colwell Avenue, Thomas Avenue, and Fox Avenue), Buckingham Court off Goddard Road, Balfour Avenue from Ecorse Road to Philomene Boulevard, and Buckingham Avenue from Ecorse Road to Philomene Boulevard.
• The Street Preservation Program joint sealed Ecorse Road from Allen Road to Pelham Road and the area west of Allen Road to Arno Avenue from Southfield Road to Hanfor Avenue.
• The Water Department installed new water mains on Paris Avenue from Allen Road to the dead-end east of Laurence Avenue and on Reeck Road from Goddard Road to Wick Road.
