van buren public schools alumni kamali clora
Kamali Clora graduated from Belleville High School in 2017, and has since built a career at the intersection of healthcare operations, equity and patient-centered care.

He earned his bachelor's degree in public health with honors from Wayne State University in 2021, and completed his Master of Public Health in Health Care Management at Yale University, serving as the 2024 commencement speaker. He is currently pursuing an MBA in strategy at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

At Belleville High School, Kamali was an active student leader and well-rounded participant in academics, arts and athletics. He was a member of the National Honor Society, served as student council treasurer, and was drum major of the marching band as well as principal trombonist in symphony band. He also played varsity doubles on the tennis team, and performed in numerous BHS theatre productions.

Kamali’s work has focused on improving access to care, streamlining clinical operations and advancing health equity. He has led projects at premier health systems including Massachusetts General Brigham, Mayo Clinic and Kaiser Permanente. At Yale, he served as executive director of the HAVEN Free Clinic, overseeing care for over 600 uninsured patients and launching an inaugural program to provide select vaccines in perpetuity with the Connecticut Department of Health.

After serving as a practice manager for minimally invasive gynecological surgery at Northwestern Medicine, he now serves as a division administrator at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. In this role, he provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple medical subspecialties in the department of medicine, with responsibility of provider and staff management, financial performance and care delivery optimization.

Kamali is passionate about supporting future healthcare leaders and regularly mentors students interested in public health and healthcare administration. He believes in “lifting as we climb”, and welcomes any opportunity to guide others navigating the healthcare landscape, just as mentors helped him along the way.
