Jabro Carpet One offers quality service and materials, loves serving community
By Kelsi Klein

FOR over 70 years, Jabro Carpet One has provided residential homeowners, commercial clients and institutional builders with quality, professional flooring service.
The business, which has always been proudly family-owned and operated, has deep roots in Southgate and with their strong commitment to quality, customer care and community involvement, Jabro Carpet One has become a trusted name in flooring around southeast Michigan.
“We’ve always been Downriver and we’ve always stuck to the same thing,” said general manager Sarah D’Ziurman, a third generation Jabro whose grandfather and great uncle started the business in 1953. “We love helping people to make their homes beautiful and somewhere they can be happy and relax.”
Now, the business is woman-owned by Sheree Jabro Smith, D’Ziurman’s mother, continuing the legacy of personalized service and integrity that the community has come to know from Jabro Carpet One.
The store specializes in a wide array of premium flooring products, including hardwood, luxury vinyl, carpet, laminate and tile. The expert design consultation, professional installation services and seamless experience from beginning to end sets Jabro Carpet One apart from other flooring stores.
Jabro specializes in not only residential floor covering but also maintains a diverse commercial portfolio including offices, churches, courthouses, police stations, municipal buildings and more. Every installation comes with a lifetime warranty of the product, ensuring Jabro’s confidence in the quality of their product and the craftsmanship they provide.
Jabro Carpet One has built a strong reputation for exceptional customer service. Whether it’s helping a homeowner find the perfect flooring for their space or coordinating a large-scale commercial project, the Jabro team works closely with each client to ensure the final result of each project exceeds their expectations.
Jabro’s design experts provide customized flooring solutions that align with individual needs, styles and budgets, and even offer a virtual room visualizer on their website, which allows clients to visualize what floors will look like in their space.
The visualizer allows customers to experiment with different flooring types, colors, patterns and texture to find the perfect match for their style by uploading a photo of their rooms to the program. The end result is a realistic mock-up image of the client’s room with the floor of their dreams.
With a passion for the people they serve and the community they’ve called home for decades, community involvement is at the core of Jabro’s identity, with their active support of local organizations, schools and churches in the area.
“Our team all live in the Downriver area, which makes giving back to our community even more important to us,” D’Ziurman said.
Notable contributions include sponsorships for youth sports teams and collaborations with groups like Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry. Recently, they donated carpet to the Woodhaven High School Robotics Team, who named their practice field in Jabro’s honor.
